| The process of making has always been a critical element of Susan and David’s practice. Their first shop was a garage in Venice, followed by a space in Santa Monica near the original Sci Arc campus. From 1994 until 1997, they worked in a series of spaces in Echo Park under the wings of Peter and Donna Shire, and then in a larger warehouse in Burbank. The focus of the shops was metalwork - metal furniture components and architectural elements and fixtures for their own projects and for other designers in Southern California. more | |||
